Our Focus/Thematic Area

Agriculture

The food and agriculture sector are a major contributor to climate change and vulnerable to its worst impacts. Most of the agricultural projects globally are not meant to produce food for man but raw materials for industries and fuel for machines, hence this creates an impression that industrial agriculture is the solution to food security. CODAF believe that the only way to assured food sovereignty is to support local farming systems that depend solely on organic materials. CODAF thrives to build the resilience of indigenous people to resist all forms of colonization of local food systems and promote agricultural practices that preserves the environment and respect the rights of indigenous people in this regard, we would focus on the following subjects under these pillars:

  1. Land grabbing
  2. Deforestation
  3. Sustainable/Organic Farming
  4. Food Sovereignty
  5. Persistent Chemicals
